Flores-Trinidad Treatment time: 30 mins pre-op Anesthesia: Mild sedation Aptos Thread FaceLift Instead of the invasive, traditional facelift that involves the removal of skin, fat and tissue, the Aptos thread lift system uses barbed threads to pull skin tighter without cutting. Polypropylene threads with fine cogs or barbs cut into the thread are inserted strategically to achieve the desired tissue support and remain anchored in their new position for years to come. It has a shorter recovery period and facial swelling usually subsides within a week, as compared to 3 weeks for the usual facelift surgery. After an Aptos facelift, the patient is advised to avoid manipulating the face for the next 2 weeks. As much as possible, the patient is also advised not to perform animated facial movements , such as smiling, in order not to displace the Aptos threads while they are in the process of being fixed to the surrounding tissues. The Aptos thread lift procedure can be done in less than an hour making it a “lunchtime facelift”. Best of all, unlike conventional face lifts, they leave no scars. The recuperation takes a maximum of 72 hours. The result is almost immediate and the cost of the procedure is about half that of a conventional surgical face lift. |
